Following my studies in Fine Art and Media at The Leeds School of Art, Architecture and Design, I worked as a Cultural Journalist reviewing plays, gigs and exhibition for Belfast based culture magazine, CultureHUB. I then travelled to Bolgatanga, in rural Ghana for 3 months to work as a marketing assistant for TradeAID Integrated through International Service, a UN NGO, as part of a sustainable development project with the Department for International Development.
After returning to the UK and working in Leeds for two years as a newsroom reporter at the Asian Express Newspaper, I studied for Master’s of Laws (LLM) in International Human Rights Law at the University of York in order to specialise in human rights journalism.
Since graduating I have worked as a legal sub-editor at Rightsinfo and for the Northern Ireland Community of Refugees and Asylum Seekers. I am now working as a freelance journalist and have written for publications and organisations including InsideOver, Rosian, The Fawcett Society, and the YWCA.
